Tokens cost one cent each, and so you buy 500 tokens for $5, or 2000 for $20, or whatever. You give us your card details once, when you sign up, and after that, every time you buy tokens, we bill that card. Tokens aren't refundable - if you buy 'em, you have to spend 'em.
As soon as you log in to a premium room, you're spending $3 cents per minute, and that continues until you log out (charging stops if the performer isn't there).
You might be wondering what happens if your computer hangs up - are you still billed? No, you're not. The DtV Broadcasting System spots the fact that you're no longer accessing, and stops billing you! So you don't actually have to log off, but it's nicer for the other chatters if you do.
You might also be worried about running up a big bill. Well, first of all, we don't bill your card except when you buy more tokens, which you have to do as a deliberate act. And secondly, we have a $50 per day limit on your spending. If you do need to go over that, you can ask, because we will make exceptions, if you really do want to spend more.
There's a third way you can spend your tokens in the chatroom; you can tip the performer. When you do that, and whether you do that, and how much, is entirely up to you. Maybe the performer did something especially good, and you want to show your appreciation in a way that's more concrete than the /clap command. It's up to you.
And the fourth way you can spend tokens, is in the archives. All the shows are archived, and you can play them back. Archived shows cost 7c/minute if they're less than 6 months old, 5c/minute if they're 6 to 12 months old, less if they're more than a year old. You make a once-off payment for the show (so, a 30-minute show would cost $1.50), and then you have a month of use of that show. You get a VCR-like set of controls, and you can use the snapshot camera to take stills of whatever you want.
